A number of shirt alterations can be performed if you do not like the way your shirt fits. If you wish to shorten the sleeves, you can remove the cuff, cut down the sleeves, and reattach them (you can even do this from the shoulder if you wish to retain the placket length). It is also possible to lengthen sleeves with double cuffs.
It can be sufficient to expose the end of the jacket’s sleeve to the critical part of the cuff if the inlay is at least half an inch thick, depending on the brand. If you want to narrow your shirt at the waist and alter the hips and chest – depending on the run – you can add darts to it. This will eliminate excess fabric, which can be annoying and unflattering to your figure.
